It's a wonderful spot to unwind, whether you're looking to fuel up before a busy day or take a leisurely afternoon break. And don’t worry about the noise from the nearby road; the ambiance here strikes a balance that allows conversation and relaxation.

The star of the show here is undoubtedly their coffee, sourced from Headlands Coffee Roasters. Customers rave about the exquisite brews, particularly the double espresso, which presents a delightful complexity—think caramel overtones with a touch of hazelnut. If you're not a coffee aficionado, fear not; the menu offers a range of options, from classic milk-based drinks to refined black coffees, with the delightful provision of altering sweetness to suit your palate.

But the sensory journey doesn’t stop at drinks. Doran Doran's menu shines brightest with its breakfast classics, including a standout Eggs Benedict that will tantalize your taste buds with its perfectly poached eggs and rich hollandaise sauce. For a more unconventional treat, their French Toast—served with elderflower-infused strawberries and whipped ricotta—offers a sweet, aromatic explosion that is nothing short of heavenly. And for those who crave savory goodness, the Roast Beef Sandwich with black pepper roast beef, Swiss cheese, and house chimichurri is sheer perfection, especially when paired with crispy hash browns or a side of homemade chips.

One recent customer, Alice Tran, shared her enthusiasm about the accommodating staff who went out of their way to serve her even past kitchen hours, crafting fresh cold brew just for her. It’s this kind of personalized service that makes a visit to Doran Doran feel like a warm embrace from a friend. Similarly, James Robinson praised their breakfast offerings, highlighting the harmonious combination of rich flavors that left him declaring it the best breakfast he's experienced in Sydney.

For those with a penchant for afternoons filled with matcha or unique tea blends, customers have also noted the high quality of Doran Doran's offerings beyond coffee, making it a well-rounded destination for both the sweet and savory seekers.

Small café with a modern industrial look of concrete roof and walls, softened by timber decor, and in the bar, tables and chairs. I started with a double espresso, which was exquisite, with a nice acidity and sweetness, hints of caramel and hazelnut. Coffee beans are from Headlands coffee, which I understand has recently opened. The 100% arabica coffee blends beans from Colombia, Brasil and Ethiopia. I had the Eggs benedict, served on a delicious croissant with Crispy bacon and mashy peas, which really works well with the rest. The egg was poached perfectly and it was finished with the right amount of hollandaise sauce. There is an evident amount of love and dedication in the making of this dish and it was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed this breakfast with a superb double latte. The one feedback I would give is to provide glasses for the water instead of disposable cups. Everything else was really lovely and friendly. Thank you for the lovely breakfast.

23/8/25 - 4 stars Small little neighbourhood café in Redfern with friendly staff. Very minimalistic with concrete decor. Is by a busy road but not too noisy. Only came for drinks on a recommendation so can't comment on food. Service takes a little while because they brew it on the spot which is great. Also like that you can adjust the sweetness but they do default to oat milk. Hojicha Intensity: SS, 9/10. Quite good! I like that the slight bitterness is still there and roasted flavours come through nicely. Consistency: SS+, 9.5/10. No issues. Just a hint of grainy-ness is actually not bad Value: A, 7/10. $8 and a fair bit of ice. Not ideal but pretty standard rates these days. Matcha Intensity: S, 8/10. It's still good but the nuttiness from the oat milk does distract a bit Consistency: SS+, 9.5/10. Value: A, 7/10. $8

Amazing spot for coffee and breakfast. We had the eggs Benedict and roast beef sandwich with hash browns, and it was the best breakfast in Sydney. They have really excellent coffee too (choice between milk, black, mocha etc) and the whole atmosphere of the cafe is chilled out and stylish. In total the eggs Benedict with a coffee and added hash browns came to $28, so pretty good value for money.

The coffee and food were absolutely amazing! Staff were super friendly and accommodating. We came in at around 2pm when the kitchen usually closes but they were nice enough to keep it open for us. They ran out of cold brew for the day but made more just for us. The french toast, roast beef sandwich and cold brew were stand outs for us.

The coffee and matcha were excellent. I would just love to see a bit more clarity on the menu descriptions. The cream that came with the scone wasn’t the usual sweetened style, maybe it had rosewater, so I was a little surprised with the first bite. But the coffee and matcha were both outstanding. My friend ordered a batch brew and it tasted amazing too. Just a small suggestion, a heads up on unique condiments would be great for customers like me who prefer more classic flavours. I’ll definitely be back for the coffee.
